STUDY IN MALAYSIA

Firstly, we need to understand Malaysia as a country. Is it suitable for me to study in Malaysia? We are talking about the environment, the people, the food and the culture. How about the cost of living and Education? Not forgetting about the quality of life and Education too.

BACKGROUND OF MALAYSIA

Let me bring you back to the history of Malaysia. Malaysia was colonised by the British. Due to that, we were influenced by the British system a lot. From the language we speak, the clothes we wear, the food we eat and the way our education system is.

Even though our first language is Bahasa Malaysia, however we use English widely here. Therefore, most of the private institutions in Malaysia teach in English. That also opens the opportunity for international students to study English in Malaysia. The environment forces the students to speak in English, and this enables students to improve their English really fast.

THE MULTI-CULTURAL COUNTRY

From the history, Malaysia is famous because of their location. The strategic importance of Malaysia is in its locationalong the Straits of Malacca, which is a major sea-route connecting the Far East to Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. Because of this, we did business with a lot of countries, especially China and India. There is where our Malaysia started to have another 2 ethics. Now Malaysia has become a multi-cultures country.

Now we have Malay, Chinese and Indian foods, towns, languages and festivals. Talking about the food, it can get messier if you mix Malay and Chinese.; Chinese Muslim foods. Muslim and Indian, Mamak food and so on.

EDUCATION SYSTEM IN MALAYSIA

Back to our topic, study in Malaysia, besides the environment, our education system is well known. Malaysia is considered as an Education hub. We have many excellent local Universities such as Taylors University, Sunway University, SEGI University, UCSI University and many more. Foreign Universities like Monash University, University of Nottingham, Heriot-Watt University and 8 others. Reputable English Centres such as ELS, British Council and LEA.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO PREPARE IF YOU DECIDE TO STUDY IN MALAYSIA?

IELTS Requirements (One of the options test)

International students are required to have IELTS results before they can start their major programme. Most students need IELTS 6.0 for the Degree programme and IELTS 6.5 for the Master Programme. Students can decide to prepare, take the exam and get the result from Malaysia or other countries. IELTS. –>LEA has IELTS Preparatory course. The IELTS result is only valid for two years.

The other exam that you can take besides IELTS is TOEFL and MUET.

ONE WORLD, ONE COUNTRY – MALAYSIA

Malaysia is full of international people. Not only because of international students but also from other contributors such as tourists and businessmen. You won’t feel alone in Malaysia. Everyone is alien here. This creates an opportunity for students to do business globally during or after their study.
