What Is EMGS and Why Is It Important?
EMGS (Education Malaysia Global Services) is the official government body that manages student visas for international students in Malaysia.
All student visa applications are:
Submitted through the EMGS student visa system
Reviewed by Malaysian immigration authorities
Linked to an approved education institution
LEA English Centre works within the EMGS system and assists students with document preparation and submission.
Documents Needed for Malaysia Student Visa Application

Important: Incomplete documents may delay your visa. LEA will review your documents before submission.
Step-by-Step: How to Apply for a Malaysia Student Visa
Step 1: Register with LEA English Centre
First, confirm your English course and receive an official offer letter from LEA.
Step 2: Prepare and Submit Documents
You submit all required documents to LEA.
Our team checks everything carefully before submission to avoid delays.
Step 3: Submission to EMGS
LEA submits your application through the EMGS student visa system.
You can later use EMGS tools for student visa Malaysia check and application status updates.
Step 4: Approval Letter (VAL)
Once approved, you will receive a Visa Approval Letter (VAL).
This letter allows you to enter Malaysia for study purposes.
Step 5: Apply for Single Entry Visa (SEV)
After receiving the VAL, you must apply for a Single Entry Visa (SEV) at the Malaysian Embassy or Consulate in your home country.
Documents usually required:
Passport
Visa Approval Letter (VAL)
Visa application form
Passport photos
The SEV allows you to enter Malaysia legally for study purposes.
Step 6: Travel to Malaysia
Once your SEV is approved, you may travel to Malaysia. To help us prepare for your arrival, please share your flight details at least 5 days in advance.
Step 7: Medical Check-Up in Malaysia
After arrival, you will complete a medical check-up at an EMGS-approved clinic.
Step 8: Student Visa Sticker Endorsement
Finally, your passport will receive the student visa sticker endorsement, confirming your official student status in Malaysia.
